His genius as an arranger of top quality popular music is showcased throughout the 48 recordings he made between 1939 and 1952. You will hear music that swings with a beat that is bold and vibrant, music that respects the melody and, very notably, music that has imagination and humour. That last ingredient is so typical of Billy May the man because he was a fun person who looked at life with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face.
