The esteemed arranger, conductor and producer Henri René worked with names such as Harry Belafonte and Eartha Kit. Henri René also released several successful LPs of his own and hear we focus on two of them "Compulsion To Swing" and "Riot In Rhythm".

From the bouncy theme of "Hansel And Pretzel" with it's call and response section proving that the orchestra is awake, to Gershwin's "Blah, Blah, Blah" and a reworking of Stars and Stripes to "The Swinging Stars And Stripes" this is truly a riotous affair!

Wonderfully remastered these full stereo recordings show off the excellent fidelity of the originals. This is certainly a must for anyone who considers themselves a fan of Big Band music!
