Jim REEVESI Lived A Lot In My Time
With only his second release, "Mexican Joe", Jim
Reeves shot to the top of the Country chart in March 1953, as did "Bimbo" at the
end of the year, both also crossing over into the Pop charts. Success brought
him a regular spot on the "Hayride" and then, in 1955, he became a member of
Nashville’s "Grand Ole Opry". That same year, he changed labels to RCA-VICTOR,
kicking off with "Yonder Comes A Sucker", which was recorded two years later in
England by The Vipers as "Railroad Steamboat". But it was with sentimental
ballads like "According To My Heart", "Am I Losing You" and "Anna Marie" that
Jim was to really make his mark.
