Starting in the 20s and continuing ever since, there has been a great tradition of brother acts in country music. Some of the early names became very influential and their influence extended across boundaries into rock'n'roll and pop music. In this CD, Jasmine is proud to present a collection of tracks from the golden era of brother acts in country music - the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. There are gospel songs, blues, hillbilly and string band pieces, even a few hints of boogie, jazz and rock'n'roll!. Many of the acts represented in this collection went on to become starring names in their own rights, some of them very prolific recorders of their music. Others are less well known; although even some of these more obscure artistes were sometimes very influential – sometimes having significant, indirect impact on the music of the 50s and 60s – and beyond.
